Hope Projects

Our projects are innovative and sustainable for years to come, enabling us to continue growing our reach and impact

At Angels Care Uganda:

We strive to not only educate and care for our children and community, but to implement innovative and sustainable development projects that benefit the entire Kyaka II refugee community.

The needs of our community are central to the heart of our projects.

The following Hope Projects are in need of support.

  • Girls' Education & Menstrual Care.

Every month, refugee girls miss a week of school due to a lack of menstrual products. This puts them behind in their classes and the resulting poor performance causes parents to un-enroll their daughters in school.

Our Girls’ Education & Menstrual Care Project provides female students with sanitary napkins so they can continue to attend school. The products are reusable, creating a durable solution.

This project keeps girls in school and narrows the gap between boys and girls’ education.

  • Fuel for the Future.

Angels Care Fuel for the Future is a sustainability project producing bio briquettes from agricultural residues to mitigate the challenge of increased deforestation in Uganda. Deforestation is caused by both refugees and Ugandans gathering wood needed for cooking food.

These bio briquettes keep women out of the danger of searching for wood, while providing sustainable source of fuel.

  • Self Sustainability.

At Angels Care, our needs often outweigh the funds we receive in monthly donations. For this reason, creating income generation tools is key to becoming a self-sustaining organization.

The opportunity lies in maize. Angels Care and the surrounding community depend entirely on corn flour for food. A maize milling machine enables us to grind our own maize to feed our school children rather than purchasing milled corn flour. We would then open a store in which local refugee women would be employed and sell subsidized maize flour to our community, all while reducing our spending on food.

The remains from milling the corn can then be used as animal feed for poultry, cattle, and pig farming.

We are looking to purchase a maize milling machine, costing $25,000USD.
